ACT 4 Summer for Grades 4–6

This summer program for budding actors in Grades 4–6 explores traditional children’s theater in new and creative ways. Act 4 Summer students learn how to not only “workshop” a show as an ensemble to build a final product together, but also how to develop their own individual character and voice within the role they assume onstage.

Focused tutorial sessions with our trained experts over the course of the day build acting skills and develop unified choreography & confident stage expression. This unique stage experience also helps budding young actors build audition skills for the future.

Act 4 Summer students can choose from one-week or single day improvisation sessions or a two-week musical theater sessions that will bring fun original parodies to the stage with guaranteed equitable roles for every cast member and plenty of songs and dances that feature the entire cast!

On select weeks in the summer, we offer flexible single day registration so you can sign up for as many days on those weeks that fits your schedule! Please note, single day registration weeks will not have a final presentation on Fridays.

Step into the ghostly halls of Spookyville High, where the coolest ghouls haunt the cafeteria, and the afterlife is anything but boring. In Mean Ghouls, our hilarious parody of the Broadway hit Mean Girls, you’ll play a part in an unforgettable story of friendship, rivalry, and learning to embrace what makes you unique—even if you’re transparent!

Our tale begins with a friendly new ghost, Casperina, who floats into Spookyville High after centuries of homeschooling in the Spirit Realm. She quickly finds herself torn between the “Coffin Clique,” led by the queen of mean herself, Regina Phantom, and her new misfit friends, the “Boo Crew.” Can Casperina survive the haunt hierarchy, or will she get tangled in the spiderweb of supernatural drama?

This original musical is packed with spirited parody songs like:
🎶 “Boo Can’t Float With Us” – A haunting anthem by Regina Phantom and her clique.
🎶 “Dead and Loving It” – A hilarious celebration of the perks of ghosthood sung by Casperina and the Boo Crew.
🎶 “Full Moon Frenzy” – A show-stopping number that turns the big school dance into a howling good time!

Get ready for clever jokes, spooky-but-silly scares, and heartwarming lessons about teamwork and kindness. But beware—the story takes a surprising turn at the end! Will the ghosts of Spookyville High find harmony, or will Regina Phantom’s reign of terror continue forever?

Don’t miss your chance to bring this original comedy to life onstage and join the most fang-tastic cast of characters ever to haunt a theater!
