Rehearsals & Casting Information

In KCT Productions, everyone gets a role! When you register for the KCTEEN Company, you will be cast in the show. Early rehearsals introduce each cast to the show and roles available and let every member participate in an inclusive audition process where everyone is cast in a role.

Participation in a KCT Company requires a serious commitment from actors and their families. Our weekly rehearsal schedule demands full attendance from every member, with conflicts shared in advance to be accommodated. Once casting is complete, there are no exceptions—the expectation is that everyone is present at every rehearsal, contributing to the collective success of the ensemble.

Fall Show: Spinning Out

For our Fall 2025 show, KCTEEN will stage Spinning Out, an original musical production of Rumplestiltskin, the classic fairy tale with fun twists, dynamic characters, and valuable life lessons in problem-solving, friendship, and perseverance.

Synopsis:

Once upon a twisted timeline in the fairy-tale kingdom of Threadonia, the King and Queen are obsessed with appearances, popularity, and royal fashion. When a village tailor boasts that his child can spin straw into gold, the Royals lock the poor spinner in a tower filled with hay—and a deadline to make it fabulous by dawn.

Desperate and doubting their skill, the spinner is visited by a peculiar little man with a big attitude and a catchy theme song: Rumpelstiltskin! He offers magical help… but always for a strange and escalating price. When the Royals demand even more golden glitz, and Rumpelstiltskin wants something too outrageous to give, the spinner must team up with other clever citizens to outwit him.

Meanwhile, a trio of royal influencers are live-streaming the drama, a band of rebel sheep are trying to stop the hay shortage, and Rumpelstiltskin has a fan club of imitators that keep showing up in disguises! Will the spinner reveal the truth? Will the Royals realize that value isn’t just about gold? And can anyone remember how to spell Rumpelstiltskin?

Spring Show: Threads of Deception

As our Spring 2026 show, KCTEEN will present Threads of Deception, an original musical production of The Emperor’s New Clothes, a classic fairy tale with a large cast of fun characters, an engaging plot, and empowering life lessons in confidence, group dynamics, and manners.

Synopsis:

In the trend-obsessed kingdom of Vainia, Emperor Extra the First is on a never-ending quest for the next big fashion trend. Every hour brings a new outfit, a new photoshoot, and a new chance to go viral. But when a pair of sneaky “designers” show up claiming they can make clothing so exclusive that only truly cool people can see it, the Emperor is hooked.

As word spreads, the Emperor’s advisors scramble to pretend they can see the invisible clothes, royal influencers stage photo ops with empty hangers, and the townspeople panic about whether they’re still stylish enough to be seen.

Meanwhile, a band of kids from the local laundry guild (who actually know how clothes work) start to suspect something fishy. With a royal fashion show fast approaching, and the Emperor ready to parade through town in his “nothing at all,” the kids must reveal the truth—with humor, humility, and a whole lot of laundry baskets.
