Program Policies

Please review our general policies below that apply to all Kidstock! students and performers.

Class & Program Attendance Policy

Students registered for classes, summer programs, vacation days, or performances are expected to attend all dates. If a student needs to miss a class due to illness or another emergency, please contact our office immediately at 781-729-5543 or admin@kidstocktheater.com to notify your teacher.

We cannot guarantee make-ups for missed classes and there are no refunds for a missed class once a session begins.

Our Pre-K programs are open to students ages 4–5 at the start of the program who have not yet entered Kindergarten. All students participating in Kidstock! programs must be toilet trained and able to use the restroom independently without staff assistance.

Cast Members and their families, are asked to make a commitment to the rehearsal process that prioritizes being in attendance at all rehearsals.

  • Good rehearsal behavior includes a positive attitude, preparedness, respect, patience & willingness to focus.
  • We will work around conflicts shared in advance of casting – please review the dates of your cast commitment and inform us by email if you are unable to be in attendance for any rehearsal class.
  • Attendance means arriving on time and not leaving early.
  • Unexpected conflicts that arise throughout the rehearsal period – birthday parties, family gatherings, sports practices, event tickets, vacation travel, etc – for the one day we rehearse will have to be told “no”.
  • Deadlines for being off book with lines & lyrics memorized are non-negotiable and parts will be recast if necessary.
  • Kidstock! is making a mutual commitment with families to having rehearsal just once a week. We have a wide variety of experiences that offer a more relaxed level of participation and encourage families to consider carefully how to make this commitment to a KCT Production a positive experience for their child.

For creative drama and dance classes, comfortable clothes and shoes that allow for freedom of movement are best. Dance attire is welcome but not required for Broadway Dance classes.

If your student is in a performance, you will receive details of what to wear for your base costume from your director and educators. Depending on the weather, we recommend bringing a pair of sneakers if you wear boots to Kidstock!

All students are asked to review the Kidstock! Code of Creativity before participating in a class, performance, or program.

We are a NUT FREE zone – please read labels carefully when sending food and label any nut free spread that looks like peanut butter or any home baked good or hand packed item that looks questionable so we know it is nut free.

Please do not send in any food that has a label that says CONTAINS NUTS.

Helpful tips:

  • Pesto usually contains pine nuts
  • Nutella contains hazelnuts

Kidstock! is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive experience for every student and family. Our unique, multi-level historic building includes several theater spaces, art rooms, dance studios, classrooms, and gathering areas. Because programs may use different spaces throughout the building, and the building does not currently have an interior elevator or lift, some of our rooms can only be reached by stairs.

We encourage families of students with mobility needs to contact us before registering. We would be glad to discuss the spaces used by a particular class, program, or production; answer questions about navigating the building; and explore reasonable accommodations that we can offer to help your young performer have the best possible Kidstock! experience.

Because each program and student’s needs are different, reaching out in advance allows us to provide the clearest information possible and work together to determine whether a program will be a good and accessible fit. Please contact us at admin@kidstocktheater.com.

In the case of severe weather, Kidstock! will notify families by email of any cancellations.  Kidstock! follows the no school cancellations for Winchester Public Schools.   We will post same day weather changes on our website as well.

There is ample off-street parking available on our campus. Please refer to our Contact page for specific directions.
