PlayMakers Class
Why memorize someone else’s words when you can create your own? PlayMakers is an innovative class for aspiring actors, playwrights, and storytellers in Grades 7–12 who are ready to take center stage—not just as performers, but as creators. Each session, students will devise, develop, and write the original shows they’ll ultimately rehearse and perform. The spotlight shines on creative ownership, empowering young artists to bring their own characters, dialogue, and scenes to life.
Every session of PlayMakers explores a new presentational theater style, from comedic sketch to documentary drama, from ensemble-driven vignettes to stylized storytelling. Guided by professional teaching artists, participants learn how to shape their ideas into scripts, collaborate as an ensemble, and bring their vision to life onstage.
This one-of-a-kind class is unlike any other theater experience in Greater Boston—and it stays true to the Kidstock! philosophy of nurturing young storytellers through creative theater.
